CFITS Cyber Camp
The Cyber Camp at the School of Computing of the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø is a
two-day introduction to various cybersecurity related topics using hands-on exercises.
The Cyber Camp is sponsored by the Center for Forensics, Information Technology, and
Security (CFITS) and is designed for high-school age students. The camp will cover
topics such as cryptography, steganography, digital logic, password safety, phishing
awareness, and cyber ethics.
General Information
Highly motivated incoming 9th – 12th graders who want to have a basic exposure to
cybersecurity topics are invited for a two-day non-residential experience at Shelby
Hall on the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø campus.
- June 20th and 21st
- 8:00 am – 12:00 pm
- Registration Fee: $150/person (paid online)
- Will be sent an online payment link after acceptance
- Lunch is not provided
- Housing in not provided
Camp Highlights
- Introduction to ciphers, data security, and information hiding/discovery
- Understanding cyber threats like weak passwords and phishing attempts
- Learn how to create and simulate digital logic circuits (free Windows software)
- Get to think like a white-hat hacker and learn about cyber ethics
- Hands-on exercises using a computing platform
- A taste of what it is like to be on a college campus and in a college classroom
- Learn about cyber careers and opportunities in cybersecurity education

Deadline for applying : June 7th, 2024
A minimum of 10 participants for the camp is required in order to host the event.
You will be notified if you are selected within one week after the deadline.
A payment link will be sent after you are accepted, and payment must be made within
5 days to keep your place in the camp.
